Emma Larsson
Emma Larsson is a jazz singer and composer with clear, original ideas and vision. She attracts listeners with her warm, rich voice and singing from her heart. Inspired by instrumental jazz she creates her music as a symbiosis between the music and the lyrics. Emma's debut album Irie Butterflies was released in 2006 and became wellreceived by listeners and radio hosts.
Her upcoming CD release Let it Go is a collection of tunes, that together make a story about letting go of negativity and after some contemplation finally move on and -love. Inspired by the masters such as Betty Carter, Maya Angelou, Miles Davis etc.
Emma Larsson’s new band consists of carefully selected players; from New York pianist Benito Gonzalez; a versatile player on the NewYork scene who has toured with Kenny Garrett, Al Foster etc. Christian Spering is one of Sweden’s top bass players who have played with many of the finest of Scandinavian musicians such as Bobo Stenson, Jeanette Lindström etc. From the Helsinki scene comes drummer Jukkis Uotila, another versatile musician who has appeared in many different contexts in Finland and abroad, and saxophonist Joonatan Rautio who is well-known to the Finnish audience.
