Mikko Innanen & Innkvisitio
 Mikko Innanen & Innkvisitio is the new quartet of Finnish saxophone player Mikko Innanen featuring Timo Lassy on saxophone and flute, Seppo Kantonen on electric organ and synthesizer and Joonas Riippa on drums. They play Innanen’s stylistically overhelming compositions, reaching for a sound that is perhaps more universal than it is local. They are going back in time to create an alternative sound of the present. Awkward grooves, heavy swing, far-out excursions in sonic junkyards, tropical tripping and hyper-speed interaction between the musicians are all present in the musical adventures of the group.
During its first year of existence Mikko Innanen & Innkvisitio have toured in Finland and Estonia. As a result, a live-cd will be released, consisting of music from their most successful performance so far.
Innanen (born in 1978), Lassy (1974) and Riippa (1977) represent the fresh, new generation of Finnish jazz musicians whereas Seppo Kantonen (born in 1963) has been uo and around since the 80's.
Mikko Innanen was awarded the annual Yrjö prize by The Finnish Jazz Federation. He is the 41st musician to receive the highest accolade given in Finnish jazz.
